Cold War nuclear bunker tour
The Comrie ROC Nuclear Bunker, also known as the Royal Observer Corps Monitoring Post, is located at Cultybraggan Camp near Comrie, Scotland. This underground structure was built during the Cold War and served as a monitoring station for the Royal Observer Corps. Its main task was to measure radiation levels in the event of a nuclear attack and relay information to the relevant authorities.

The bunker is a two-storey building, partially underground, equipped with reinforced walls and special filtration systems to protect the occupants from radioactive radiation. Inside, there are various rooms including an operations room, communication centers, and accommodations for personnel. The facility could accommodate up to 60 people and was equipped with state-of-the-art technology to effectively operate in case of emergency.
Cultybraggan Camp historical site
After the end of the Cold War and the decline of the nuclear threat, the bunker was no longer needed and fell into obscurity. In 2007, the Comrie Development Trust acquired Cultybraggan Camp, including the bunker, as part of a Community Right-to-Buy program. Since then, the bunker has been restored and made accessible to the public. Visitors can now participate in guided tours, providing insight into the history of the bunker and its significance during the Cold War.
